Awarding of the Companionate of Merit of the Order to Reggio Calabria (Italy) Postulants’
– December 2005.
In a public event in aid of the Saint Lazarus Hospice Foundation, the Grand Prior and Chancellor of the Grand Priory of the Mediterranean bestowed the award of Officer of Merit of the Companionate of Merit of the Order to two postulants, both hailing from Reggio Calabria.
Doctor Cesare Zappia OMLJ and Mro. Armando Gatto OMLJ both received their awards by the Grand Prior, Monsignor Anton Gauci, who was accompanied by the Chancellor, Massimo J Ellul. Their philanthropic and cultural work in aid of the Saint Lazarus Hospice Foundation was thus officially recognized. Their enthusiasm for the Order definitely augurs well for the future, especially with the earmarked founding of the Grand Commandery of Italy of the Order.
