As can be found elsewhere in this website, the various branches of the Order of Saint Lazarus have signed an Alliance document in 2004, whereby each side recognized the other. To date, the signatories of this document include:
The United Grand Priories of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, of which our Grand Priory is a member. The Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem - Malta Obedience, under the leadership of the Vicar General, Chev. Reginald Attard GCLJ.
and
The Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem - Paris Obedience, under the leadership of their Grand Master, Prince Charles Philippe of Orleans.
In November 2005, to further solidify their existing Alliance, and in order to completely harmonise their Hospitaller efforts throughout the world, the United Grand Priories of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem and the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem - Obedience of Malta, signed a further Alliance Convention in Malta. Present for the meetings were, from the United Grand Priories, the Master General, Fra John Baron von Hoff, the Chancellors of the Grand Priories of the Mediterranean and of England, Wales, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man; Chev. Massimo J Ellul and Chev. Roderick Morriss respectively. The Malta Obedience were represented by their Vicar General, Chev. Reginald Attard and their Grand Chancellor Dr. Freidrick Schubert and their deputy Grand Chancellor, Dame Helen Meli Attard.
This Alliance Convention, featured here in its scanned format, will indeed be a useful tool in order to jointly organise ever bigger Hospitaller works by the two Lazarite organisations. One augurs that, eventually, all Lazarite organisations will take this example as the only way forward in ensuring complete harmony between the various Lazarite Orders and Organisations spread around the world.
